Non-geographic numbers

Take care of everything from disaster recovery to marketing your business with non-geographic numbers (NGNs).

NGNs are easy to remember and can be targeted to any UK landline or mobile number. You can also change the number it points to as often as you like, so your customers can reach you, wherever you are.

What are non-geographic numbers?

NGNs (0845, 0844, 0843 and 0871) provide a vast array of services that can benefit your business.

Key services include:

  • Call queueing: we can place your callers in a queue when your telephone lines are busy and provide comfort messages or even position in queue. Callers won’t receive the engaged tone.
  • Fax to email: we can intercept an incoming fax, transfer it to a PDF and send it to your required email destination.
  • Email to fax: write a fax in the form of an email, so there’s no need to go to your fax machine to send a document.
  • Disaster recovery: if your telephone lines become unavailable, you can use the Brighter Bills NGN service to simply log into a web portal and change the destination telephone number. You can then continue running your business with minimal disruption. With a service called ‘One to Many’, up to five destinations can be assigned.

Leased lines

Dependable connectivity

A leased line is a dedicated connection that allows communication between two sites (a point-to-point leased line) or between a site and the internet (an internet-leased line). Leased lines typically deliver bandwidth over a leased fibre connection, although copper local tails can sometimes be used as well.

Leased line benefits:

  • You won’t share your leased line with anyone else. So, you’ll have the advantage of the same 100MB line at peak times during the day – and no downtime.
  • Network is up and running 24/7 with unlimited usage. It offers seamless file transfers, video conferencing, VoIP and any cloud-based services. And it will reduce other expenses in the long run.
  • Upstream and downstream speeds are as fast as each other.
  • More efficient – it’s a managed server and the downtime is rare, and it’s monitored.
  • Security – you’re the only user, which means a high level of security for point-to-point transfers, etc.
